Light, cold and crisp. Celery, cucumber and green apple with lemon and a small nub of ginger. This is the one I reach for when I want something clean that still tastes like an actual drink, not a chore.
Why these ingredients work
Celery and cucumber are mostly water, so this stays light and low in sugar, and the green apple does the sweetening without piling on calories. Celery has earned its reputation as a weight-loss staple for a good reason: it’s filling for very few calories. Lemon and ginger add flavour and a little warmth without adding anything you need to count.
FAQ
Is celery juice actually good for weight loss?
No single juice makes you lose weight on its own. But celery is very low in calories and high in water, so a juice like this is a genuinely light option if you’re watching your intake.
How many calories is this juice?
About 120 per glass, almost all of it from the natural sugar in the green apples. There’s no added sugar in the recipe.
Will this keep me full?
It’s a juice, so it won’t fill you the way the whole vegetables would. Have it alongside proper food rather than instead of it.

- Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until completely smooth.
- Pour through a nut milk bag or fine-mesh sieve into a jug, squeezing the pulp to get the last of the juice, then serve.
