Strawberry Lemon Apple Spinach and Carrot Juice: A Kid-Friendly Green Juice

This is the juice I make when someone tells me they don’t like green juice. The strawberries and apple run the show, and the spinach just quietly comes along for the ride. Kids tend to like it because it’s pink and it doesn’t taste like vegetables.

The sneaky part is the spinach. It’s full of folate, iron and antioxidants, all of which matter for your brain, and you can’t taste any of it.

Why these ingredients work

Spinach brings folate, iron and a stack of antioxidants that support brain function, all hidden behind the strawberry and apple. Carrots add beta-carotene, which your body converts to vitamin A. Strawberries themselves are packed with vitamin C and polyphenols. The lemon keeps the sweetness honest and stops it tasting flat.

FAQ

Can kids have this?

Yes, it’s the one my own kids will actually drink. Go easy on the lemon if they find it too sharp, and consider cutting it with a little water for younger ones.

Is spinach in juice actually good for you?

Spinach is rich in folate, iron and antioxidants. Juicing removes the fibre, so you lose that benefit, but the nutrients mostly survive.

Can I use frozen strawberries?

Definitely. Frozen strawberries are often picked riper than fresh ones, so they can taste even sweeter.
