Carrot Apple Ginger Juice: A Warming, Natural Energy Juice

This is probably the juice I make most often, because it’s three cheap ingredients I almost always have in the house. Carrot and apple are sweet enough on their own, and the ginger turns it into something that warms you up from the inside.

It’s the closest thing to a natural energy drink I know. The ginger is what makes it feel like one.

Why these ingredients work

Carrots bring beta-carotene, apples a mellow sweetness, and the ginger is the star, it warms you through and gives the juice its energising feel. The natural sugars in carrot and apple release steadily, so you get a lift without the sharp drop. Lemon keeps it from tasting too sweet.

FAQ

Is ginger good for energy?

Ginger’s warming effect can feel energising, and it’s well studied for helping with nausea and inflammation. For actual energy, the carrot and apple sugars do the work.

Is this too sweet?

It’s naturally sweet but not sickly, the ginger and lemon balance it. If it’s too much for you, use a granny smith apple.

Can I make it without a juicer?

Yes, blend and strain. Carrot is quite fibrous so you’ll need a good strain.
