Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 beetroot scrubbed
  • 2 apples cored
  • 2 carrots scrubbed
  • 1 inch ginger peeled
  • 1/2 lemon peeled
  • 1 orange peeled

Instructions

Juicer method

  • Scrub the beetroot and carrots, core the apples, peel the citrus and ginger.
  • Juice the beetroot and carrots first, then the apple, orange, lemon and ginger.
  • Stir well and serve. The colour settles, so give it a swirl before pouring.

Blender method

  • Chop everything and blend with a little water until smooth.
  • Strain through a fine sieve, pressing to get all the juice out.
  • Serve over ice.

Notes

Beetroot is naturally high in nitrates, which your body converts to nitric oxide to help relax blood vessels and support healthy blood flow. Drink it fresh for the biggest benefit. Nutrition is an estimate per glass.
